Which parts of the celebration am I invited to?

Some guests are invited to join us for the full five day celebration, while others are invited to attend the wedding day itself. Your invitation will outline the details relevant to you, but if you are uncertain, please let us know.

What time should I arrive on the wedding day?

The ceremony will begin at 1.00pm on Saturday 11th July at St Mary the Virgin. Please ensure you arrive in good time and are seated in the church before 1.00pm. We recommend arriving at least 20 to 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.

Where is the ceremony taking place?

The ceremony will take place at St Mary the Virgin in Goldsborough, just a short distance from Goldsborough Hall.

Will transport be provided between the church and the reception?

The church and Goldsborough Hall are very close to one another, and most guests will be able to walk between the two. If you require assistance, please let us know.

What should I wear?

The dress code for the wedding day is formal. We would love everyone to dress for the occasion. Morning dress is encouraged, although a suit and tie is absolutely perfect.

For women, formal daywear such as a dress or tailored outfit is ideal. Hats and fascinators are very welcome and encouraged.

For other events across the weekend, please refer to the individual events for specific dress guidance.

What will the weather be like?

In July, North Yorkshire is typically mild and pleasant, with long daylight hours. Daytime temperatures are usually between 18°C and 23°C, although warmer days are possible.

Evenings can feel cooler, particularly in the countryside, so a light layer is recommended. As with most of the English summer, the weather can be changeable, and there is always the possibility of light rain.

Many parts of the celebration will take place both indoors and outdoors, including time spent on the grounds, so comfortable footwear suitable for grass is advised.

Will accommodation be provided?

Accommodation is provided for guests invited to the full five day celebration. If you are attending only the wedding day, you will need to arrange your own accommodation.

May I bring a guest?

Due to limited capacity, we are only able to accommodate those guests named on your invitation.

Are children invited?

We kindly ask that only children specifically named on the invitation attend.

What time does the celebration end on Saturday evening?

The evening celebration will finish at 11.00pm. Taxis will be arranged to take guests back to Knaresborough Inn at that time.

Do you have a gift list?

Your presence at our wedding is all we could ask for.

For those who have kindly asked about gifts, our local village church, St Mary Magdalene, Whitgift, is currently fundraising for roof restoration works. It is a place that means a great deal to our family and where Brian was baptised.

If you would like to contribute to the appeal, you can make your donation here.

Who should I contact if I have a question?
